Dassault Aviation announced on Thursday that its net profit increased while sales declined in the first half of the year, but the company remains confident in its full-year outlook.
Financial Performance
The French aircraft manufacturer recorded a net profit of €362 million ($405.6 million) in the first half of the year, compared to €272 million in the same period last year. On an adjusted basis, the profit reached €405 million.
Meanwhile, sales decreased from €3.11 billion to €2.30 billion. The order intake for the period was €1.68 billion, down significantly from €16.29 billion last year, which included a large order of 80 Rafale aircraft for the UAE and six Rafale aircraft for Greece.
Supply-Chain Challenges
Dassault Aviation acknowledged that, like many other players in the industry, it is facing supply-chain issues. The company stated that the situation has worsened since 2022 and is actively working to minimize the negative impact by closely monitoring its suppliers’ production.
Full-Year Expectations
Despite the challenges faced, Dassault Aviation stands by its full-year guidance. The company anticipates a decrease in sales compared to 2022 and plans to deliver a total of 15 Rafale aircraft and 35 Falcon jets during the year.
