June’s production in the construction sector decreased by 1.7% in the euro area and by 1.2% in the EU zone.
- In the previous month, May 2021, the production in construction declined by 0.4% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU.
- In June 2021, compared with the same period last year, production in construction rose by 2.8% in the euro area and by 3.5% in the EU.
- In the euro area in June 2021 compared to the same period last year, building construction increased by 3.1% and civil engineering by 2.2%. In the EU, building construction grew by 3.8% and civil engineering by 2.6%.
- The largest monthly decline in production in construction were recorded in Slovakia (-6.5%), Spain (-3.6%), and Austria (-3.3%). The highest increases were recorded in Slovenia (+4.8%), Hungary (+3.6%), and Romania (+2.0%).
The highest annual increases in production in construction were recorded in Hungary (+27.7%), Romania (+10.2%), and Austria (+10.0%). The largest decreases were recorded in Spain (-10.6%), Germany (-1.6%), and Belgium (-0.6%).
