Eurozone’s production in the construction sector dropped by 4.0% and by 3.1% in the EU.
- In November 2021, the production in construction had decreased by 0.2% in the euro area and rose by 0.1% in the EU.
- On an annual basis, production in construction for 2021 rose by 5.2% in the euro area and by 4.8% in the EU, compared with 2020.
- In December 2021, the eurozone’s building construction dropped by 4.5%, and civil engineering decreased by 1.9%. In the EU, building construction fell by 3.6% and civil engineering by 1.3%.
- Austria leads the euro area member states with the largest monthly decreases in production in construction with (-8.1%), followed by Germany (-7.3%), and France by (-7.0%).
The highest monthly increases were posted in Hungary (+7.2%), Sweden (+4.6%), and Belgium (+3.2%).
