The Eurozone construction sector’s annual growth expanded by 1.1% in February and rose by 1.1% in the EU.
- Construction output in the single currency zone expanded 9.45 annually in February, after a growth of 4.4% year-on-year in January.
- On a monthly basis, construction production expanded 1.9% in February, easing from January’s 3.9% month-on-month increase.
- Building construction rose by 2.0% in February 2022 from January as civil engineering increased by 1.4%. In the EU, building construction rose by 1.3% and civil engineering by 1.1%.
- On a monthly basis, the highest increases in production in construction were reported in Hungary (+13.3%), Slovenia +8.4%), and Austria (+5.3%).
On a yearly basis, the highest increases in production in construction were posted in Hungary (+42.3%), Slovenia (+32.3), and Poland (+2.13%). Declines in construction output were posted in Sweden and Spain.
