U.S. futures for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 0.1%. However, changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.1% in morning trading. Notable performers include a rise of 8.1% for Idorsia and a 7.4% increase for Kesko Series B. On the flip side, Delivery Hero slipped 6.1%, and Deliveroo sunk 4.3%. The FTSE 100 also added 0.2%. Other European stocks experienced gains as well, with France’s CAC 40 up by 0.1% and Germany’s DAX climbing by 0.1%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index rose by 0.1% to 97.9.
In commodities, Brent crude gained 0.1% to reach $81.88 a barrel, while WTI crude rose by 0.1% to $76.85 a barrel.
Yields on the German and U.S. bonds saw slight declines. The German 10-year Bund yield fell by 1 basis point to 2.231%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 2 basis points to 4.055%. As a general rule, bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Asian stock markets displayed mixed performances, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbing by 0.1%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined by 2.3%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite fell by 1.8%.
