The sales of new single-family houses in May dropped to an annual adjusted rate of 769,000.
- Despite the monthly decline in sales, the sales units were 9.2% higher than May 2020’s annual adjusted estimate of 704,000.
- The median sales price for new residential houses increased to $374,000 from a median sales price of $365,300 in April.
- The supply of new houses in May was 330,000, which is a supply of 5.1 months at the prevailing sales rate.
The median sales price and average sales price of houses has increased in three consecutive months.
