UBS Group’s U.S. wealth management unit has announced the recruitment of a highly experienced advisor team from Merrill Lynch. The team, which previously oversaw $700 million in client assets, consists of five individuals and is based in Greenwich, Conn. Led by financial advisors Kevin Coutant and Keith Coutant, who are brothers, the team specializes in serving high-net-worth individuals and families.
Joining the Coutant brothers at UBS are senior wealth strategy associates Meredith Mitchell Smith and Kristen Quick, as well as client service associate Henry Hamilton. With their extensive experience and expertise, the team is well-equipped to provide exceptional financial services to their clients.
Kevin and Keith Coutant have been with Merrill Lynch for many years, having started their careers at the firm in 1999 and 2003, respectively. Their move to UBS signifies a strategic decision to further enhance their capabilities and serve their clients more effectively.
UBS, while being the smallest of the four major wirehouses, continues to strengthen its presence in the industry. With approximately 6,000 financial advisors in its Americas wealth management unit, the company has recently increased its hiring efforts. This is evident in its successful recruitment of several advisor teams with significant assets under management (AUM). In fact, just this month, UBS announced the hiring of two groups of Merrill advisors who collectively oversaw more than $3.4 billion in client assets.
