US business inventories for October 2021 increased by 1.2% to reach $2,127.5 billion.
- Manufacturers’ and trade inventories, adjusted for seasonal changes but not for price adjustments, stood at $2,127.5 billion, an increase of 1.2% from September 2021 but was lower than the 7.8% increase in October 2020.
- The combined value of distributed trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for October was estimated at $1,709.1 billion, an increase of 2.1% from September, but the increase was lower than the 16.7% increase in October 2020.
The total business inventories/sales ratio, which is computed using seasonally adjusted data, was 1.24 but was lower than the 1.35 reported in October 2020.
