November wholesale inventories rose by 1.4% to $771.1 B, surpassing a consensus estimate of an increase of 1.2%.
- Sales of merchant wholesalers after adjusting for seasonal variations and trading day differences but not price adjustments increased by 1.3% to $630.8 billion from the October revised figure.
- November sales were 23.3% higher than the revised level reported in the same period last year.
- Total inventories for US wholesalers, after adjusting seasonal variations and day differences, but not for price adjustments rose by 1.4% to $771.1 billion.
- Total inventories increased by 15.9% from the revised November 2020 level. The October inventories were revised upwards to 1.4% from initially reported 1.2%.
November inventories/sales ratio for merchant wholesalers was 1.22, unchanged from the ratio reported in October and down from 1.30% a year ago.
