Coinbase has filed an application with the National Futures Association to offer trading in futures and derivatives.
- Through the filing, Coinbase aims to broaden its offerings on the platform and grow the crypto economy further.
- Earlier in the week, Coinbase said it plans to obtain $2 billion financing through bond offering to fund future takeovers and come up with new products and technologies.
If approved, Coinbase will join CME Group and other crypto exchanges such as Binance, Kraken, OKEx, and FTX in providing derivatives trading.
