Crypto debit cards are gaining popularity as Visa gives approval to Australian startup CryptoSpend to release a spending card in Australia.
- The Sydney-based crypto spending app announced Visa’s approval for them to issue physical debit cards that will allow Australians to spend their Bitcoin at the local merchants.
- In an interview, CryptoSpend co-founders said the new card will be issued by Novatti, a major local payments company and is expected to enter the market in September.
- The upcoming crypto debit card will enable users to spend their major cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, XRP, ETH, and Bitcoin Cash.
CryptoSpend co-founder Andrew Grech says the card would enable Australians to cash out their Bitcoin returns rather than selling the cryptocurrency.
